When I use windows, I'll find a folder of music and hit applicatins and downarrow until I hear play with windows media player. Then, it plays evrything in that folder and I can go from song to song without any problems. I've downloaded everything into the Mac but can't figure out how to play it without actually going into each folder and hitting enter on a particular song. First, I put everything in my music, but then moved it to the ITunes folder, since VLC Media Player didn't seem to be completely accessible. One of the things that ITunes seems to be able to do is create random playlists. I love this feature. I once had a program on my XP desktop that did this but still don't know which one it was so I couldn't install it on my XP laptop. But right now, I just want to be able to play my music. So am I doing this correctly? How do I add songs and make playlists with ITunes?
Itunes? Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
Yes, but are you using it on a Mac or on a Windows machine? that could make all the difference.
Ok, when you're in windows, why not just press enter on the song? Seriously, ya don't have to work that hard to achieve what you want to do. Just install Winamp, either one of the earlier versions or the latest and you can create playlists, or just load up a folder and put it on random play.
That's fine for Windows, but now I'm working with the Mac and am looking for software to use on it.
I'm not sure how to make playlists in iTunes (the one stupid feature I can't figure out), but. In iTunes, you should see a couple tables. When you're in the sources table, arrow up to the music library playlist option. Then tab over to the songs table. Voila, there are all your songs. also, there's a search box in iTunes, and you can type the artist, song, album, or just any random word, and iTunes will pull up all the corresponding songs for you. According to an old message on one of the Voiceover email lists, hitting Vo-shift-M will bring up the context menu which has an option that says "add to playlist", but this command doesn't work for me. No idea why. It's very frustrating.
